30th Birthday Playlist: RIP to My '20s and IG Live Set

Nothing really changes when you turn 30. I didn’t throw my back out getting off my couch, AARP didn’t send me a birthday card, but I did have the most low-key celebration that I’ve ever had since NYC is still abiding by most shelter in place rules. There was some Zooming, a lot of food and wine and flowers. Thank you to everyone who reached out to ring in the new decade.

I attempted a live DJ set on Instagram which got shut down, and the set I curated included a lot of my bday friend Janet Jackson only got 20 minutes air time before I got cut off. Play this out of your phone’s speaker and project “Dammn Baby” onto a blank wall and that’s basically what you would’ve seen. Dive into my newfound obsession with Spice Girls’ “Last Time Lover” followed by Janet’s “Go Deep” or SiR & Boogie’s “Rapper Weed” to “Got Til It’s Gone”.
